C.A.R.E Corner Respite Program

About C.A.R.E. Corner

C.A.R.E. Corner Respite Program (Compassion. Arts. Respite. Empathy), is a new holistic, family-centered initiative of Expose Dementia designed to foster community and shared support through two distinct respite sections: a day program and an evening/weekend program, both providing creative arts activities for our friends living with dementia, while giving care partners several uninterrupted hours for rest, self-care, errands, or meaningful personal time, resulting in reduced stress and improved overall wellness. By intentionally serving both individuals with dementia and their care partners, C.A.R.E. Corner recognizes dementia as a family journey.

Compassion.

Arts.

Respite.

Empathy.

Our respite initiative addresses cultural disparities in dementia care by offering both multicultural and culture-specific services. For instance, programs are customized according to participants’ musical and artistic preferences. Historically, communities of color have been underrepresented in adult day programs and other respite services, and C.A.R.E. Corner aims to address this gap.

We measure our impact at the family level rather than individually.

At Expose Dementia, we lead with love. It shows by the way we care.

iCare: Dementia Care Partners Speak on Their Journey is the first in a series of anthologies published through Expose Dementia to provide voices for those impacted by dementia.

In this volume, 11 caregivers share their experiences to shed light on the volatile journey of caring for a loved one with dementia. The wisdom shared is to help other care partners navigate their journeys.

Proceeds from book sales benefit CARE Corner Respite Programs.
